The person object contains information about the administrative, technical and abuse contacts associated with the other IRR objects. In LACNIC’s implementation, person objects are automatically generated based on the information of the users associated with the organizations, IP addresses and ASNs registered with LACNIC.
The object's attributes are described below:
- person: The value of the attribute is the person's full name.
- nic-hdl: The value of the attribute is the person's handle. In LACNIC's IRR, it is the handle of the user on the MiLACNIC system.
- address: The value of the attribute is the person's address.
- phone: The value of the attribute is the person's telephone number. This attribute has the following syntax:
phone: <country-code> <number> <extension>
For example: phone: 598 2 6042222
- e-mail: The value of the attribute is the person's email address.
- changed: This attribute shows the email address of the person who modified the object for the last time and the date of the modification. The attribute has the following syntax:
changed: <email-address> <YYYYMMDD>
For example: changed: johndoe@terabit-labs.nn 19900401
- source: This attribute specifies the registry where the object is registered.
Example of a person object:
person: Carlos M. Martínez
nic-hdl: AIL
address: Rambla Rep. Mexico
address: 6125
phone: 598 2 6042222

Editing a person object
The MiLACNIC system allows each user to edit their own account, which means that you can modify the information of the person object associated with the user that is logged in to the MiLACNIC system. Click on the following links to see the steps you must follow.
- Editing the user’s personal information:
https://lacnic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/231707027-User-information
- Editing the email address associated with an account:
Once the operation is complete, the user/contact and the corresponding person object will be modified.
*If an organization's administrative contact or any of the technical contacts of an IP address block or Autonomous System are modified but the user is not related to any other IRR resource, the person object corresponding to this contact will be removed from the IRR.
